The masterclass is intended for advanced singers. The repertoire on the course is decided by the student. The course consists of daily individual lessons (5 x 45 minutes) and working with the pianist. Active participation is limited to 7 singers.
Two course concerts are organized during the course.
The pianist on the course is Joel Papinoja.
Accommodation can be arranged during the course at Joutsenon Opisto dormitory in single or shared twin rooms. Full board package also includes meals.

A-price 625 € (lessons, breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner, and accommodation in a single room)
B-price 595€ (lessons, breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner, and accommodation in a shared twin room)
C-price 485 € (lessons, lunch, and afternoon coffee)
How to apply
Fill in the Online application form. Application period is February 1st – May 14th, 2023.
The applicants are requested a sound sample when applying. The recording should include one opera aria and one lied selected freely. Please attach the recording to your application or send the recording by email to opisto(at)outsenonopisto.fi no later than May 14th, 2023.
All applicants will be informed about the student selection by May 26th,2023 by email.
Singing courses
22.-28.7.2023
Solo singing course – vocal training, interpretation, lied and opera together with accompanying.
Solo singing course includes a daily individual lesson (30 min) for a singing teacher, lied-lessons in a group class and working with a pianist who works as a duo couple.

Accompaniment
22.-28.7.2023
In coordination with the solo-singing course there will also be a course on accompaniment, where a pianist will be given guidance and a chance to serve as a partner to one of the singers. There will be no course fee, as the pianists are essentially working throughout the course. You may apply to be an accompanist even if you have no singer as a partner.
The accompaniment course is primarily for those studying the piano professionally, or for young professionals in the field.
