Joutseno Art Summer International Film Festival is a new event held for the first time in summer 2023 in Lappeenranta, Finland. Although the festival focuses on the role of sustainable development and on the beauty of responsible art and filmmaking, it welcomes submissions on other themes as well.
The Joutseno Art Summer Film Festival is almost here! A delightfully large number of films submitted for the competition, and the quality of the films was very good. We welcome everyone from near and far to the festival to enjoy diverse and high-quality films! The exact schedule of the event will be published in the coming days and tickets can be purchased from Liveto or directly from Nuijamies. Festival passes are already for sale and individual tickets will be sold on week 23.
We are proud to organise this wonderful event in cooperation with the cultural-historical Cultural Space Nuijamies, in the summer scenery of our beautiful city. We believe that we will experience something unique that has not yet been experienced in Lappeenranta. Welcome to join us!
To highlight the importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Joutseno College is holding this international film festival offering the pleasant atmosphere and the great natural scenery of Lake Saimaa, Finland.
Our main goal with Joutseno Art Summer International Film Festival is to help maximise the engagement of select independent filmmakers who choose to challenge and reflect on global scale problems. The festival offers filmmakers a unique opportunity to screen their works in one of the most scenic venues and locations in Finland!
The festival is open to everyone and we warmly welcome people to see and enjoy versatile films as well as encounter one another and broaden perspective to the world. The festivals also takes note to children and families offering a dedicated event for them.
